  Today This word has a tone of immediacy to it.  I've got to get this project done today .  This can't wait.  I've an appointment with the doctor today .  I can't put off those commitments until tomorrow.  It's today . We tend to put things off to another day. But it is today .  It is hard to live in the day.. today ...but we must.  We can't live in the past and the future is unknown.  We have only this day, today .   Happiness I suppose happiness is the  most sought after state of mind that we desire.  Perhaps we visualize this as a state where we are totally free of conflict and hardship.  But maybe happiness is tied up with our struggles, as well. Sometimes our happiness is linked to a common event where all is well.  But other times it comes with struggle through a challenging time.  The knowledge, that when we pass through those challenging times building stronger ties and closer bonds to family and friends, is really the true foundation of happiness.    I happened to come across a photo I had taken at my granddaughter's graduation.  On her mortarboard she had pasted some 50 or so short statements and single words that apparently had important meaning to her.  I began to inquire, for myself, what meanings did these words have for myself?  I selected 20 of the 50 items, pasted on her mortarboard, to explore and write down my thoughts. I plan to post each of the 20 selected items  on FB.  These will be a short paragraph or two.   Here are the 20 I selected:       Happiness, Today, Terrific, Rollercoaster of Life, Friends, Think, As we go through we never stop  learning and growing, New adventures, All wonders, Change, Wish, Sunshine finds you, Pain, Life's little pleasures, I believe in miracles and blessings both large and small, Fun, Caring thoughts, All wonders, wings,  On your head.
